My partner, who was also my best friend and FP just dumped me. He said our relationship has felt like an obligation because we were spending everyday together and I was using him as an escape. He said he has no feelings for me anymore and I don't know if he even wants anything to go with me. He said whats between us is in the past. I want to keep him in my life, and start our friendship from scratch if he'll let me, but I'm feeling very lost and having a very hard time letting go. He was incredibly cold. And I'm also pretty sure he's already with someone else. Theres a lot of other details but far too many to share all at once. I'm just fucking devastated. I feel so much guilt and regret over everything I did to push him away. How do I deal with this? How do I let go of those FP feelings and still keep him in my life? Please help.

Fuck! This guy sounds horrible. No matter how it's making him feel. He should always try to communicate properly with you, especially during a breakup. He cannot blame everything on you. It does sound like he's met someone else, and he's trying to use your BPD as an excuse. BPD doesn't make you a bad person, but splitting up with someone in that way does. If BPD was a physical illness, imagine someone splitting up because they were sick of their wheelchair or something. It's wrong. Using your illness against you is always wrong. In times when this has happened, especially to us. We are told that we NEED to distract ourselves to keep ourselves safe. Have company around, vent to us, watch things, get outside. Keep safe and stay distracted. I wouldn't contact him just yet. This man sounds horrible, and he thinks he's got you wrapped around his finger. Please vent as much as you need to, don't bottle it up
