Hello, I am new here. I am currently struggling with debilitating sacroiliac pain, which has been treated, without long term improvement. Is anyone else dealing with this? What have you found helpful?

Hi, I have had sacroiliac joint trouble on both sides, for a year and a half. I used injections for over a year, but the results were diminishing. I now go to a "wholistic chiropractor, and have seen a slow, progressive improvement. I also started "stretch" therapy ( fascia-stretch), to recover mobility loss due to si pain and injury. The chiropractor uses a compression "gun" to move and realign the bones, plus "light therapy"( low, middle, and high, spectrum light), to promote healing. I've been going for about 2-1/2 months, and I'm seeing improvement. Also the stretch therapist gave me exercises to do before and after walking/ running, to aid against stiffness and tightening up after exercise. I hope you find someone to really help you to be restored to health.

@JourneywithJesus , thank you so much. I was initially treated by pain management, and ran into some issues with the doctor there (his solution after other methods like injections and NSAIDs were not helpful was aspercreme). I went back to my primary care who has been managing it with injections, but they are not working well anymore. He has referred me to Orthopedics this week.

@I.love.puppies when I went to the chiropractor, he looked at my MRI's and seeing the problems, he was supportive that he could help me. He was the one to realign my hips ( no one noticed they were out of wack), and has been targeting the piriformis muscle ( in the right glute), saying that was the cause of the pain in my bottom and the wrapping nerves around to my groin, down the front of my thigh and sometimes into my ankle. I am doing better, and hoping as I continue to do my part to stretch and exercise the right amount, that I'll get to a maintenance level ( 1 x a month), for chiro to keep my advance. .... soon ☺️ I use meds ( naproxen and Tylenol), intermittently and that's better than the every day popping something to stave off pain. I'll still use a lidocaine roll on or something soothing ( arnica, or topricin), to be sure I can get comfortable and not be disturbed by pain at bedtime/sleeping time.
