I was looking for people to relate to, having a phobia of water/bathing isn't really something you can just bring up to "normal" people. ( I also have (Is have the right word lol) arachnophobia so fill free to just share your experiences with any phobia)

Personally I have had arachnophobia for as long as i can remember, spiders have always freaked me out. People always tell me stop being such a baby, look how small it is or it can't hurt you, I was trapped in a tent once with spiders all over the top of it and I started panicking. Noone in my family would let me go and I started to freak out, and when I finally got out they just laughed it made it even worse and they wonder why I still have arachnophobia. :\

I hear you. I’ve always had a phobia of soaps (and gels, shampoos, body washes, etc). I know this is not exactly the same as a fear of bathing and water. But, it has made showering and bathing difficult for my whole life. You are right, a fear of bathing isn’t something that most people understand! Have you heard of the term Ablutophobia? While our fears aren’t exactly the same, they both fall under the definition of Ablutophobia - which is defined as a fear of bathing, or a fear of soap. Despite our different fears, I think we could probably have some similar experiences! I also have Vehophobia and Dromophobia (fear of driving and fear of crossing roads).
