      Nobody considers that we are all diagnosed at some point in our lives, even if it's simply requiring care in infancy and old age. Its a human experience we will all face but it's so misunderstood and stigmatized.

      just because they dont know any better. when you havent experienced it, its hard to understand. just like a person who's never had a heart attack won't really understand the experience, they can't understand what is hard for you and why. before i used a wheelchair i didnt know how hard it is to move around in one, how wide spaces really need to be. people who have moved me somewhere while im in my chair often comment that they've learned a lot from just a few minutes of it. basically, theyre not trying to be ableist, or hurtful to you, they just dont understand it because theyve never experienced it its not really your job or anything, but if theyre willing to listen, it can help them best if you just explain it in basic terms, use simile, and give a real life example of a time it affected you. they may grow from the conversation
