I have COVID and my anxiety and panic disorder is really kicking my butt. Any tips, whether for COVID or for anxiety?

I was pretty sick with covid for almost a month, the main thing that helped was checking my oxygen levels and other vitals. Had to keep reminding myself that I would be okay.

I have not had coved but patrick porter has a phenominalbrain power meditation...some cost but you can find the minimum on google which is just as good. Or sometimes therapy in a nutshell is great. Counting 54321 helps to calm you down.

Personally for me when I had covid, breathing exercises would make me panic a bit more because my breathing was inhibited, yes breathing exercises are proven to be helpful in times of panic but if you’re like me, then you might benefit from muscle relaxation techniques. I really enjoy the one in which you sit in a comfortable position (sitting, laying down) and focus on releasing all the tension in your jaw, to the point where it hangs low and your mouth is open. Then focus on releasing the muscles around your eyes and letting them droop, feeling the pull of gravity as you relax your face. When you’re doing it, you might feel like you have the face of an old man fast asleep on a dingy old recliner but that means you’re doing it right lol. This gives me instant relaxation because it’s tricks your brain into switching up its nervous systems— you can’t be in a dangerous situation when your face is entirely relaxed. I hope this helps.

Agreed with the breathing exercise, sometimes purposeful overstimulation can really help me avoid anxiety attacks. I like to put on loud music while taking a cold shower. Dancing around helps expel some of the tension that you’re holding. Switching the water to hot and writing affirmations on the steamy glass is an incredible follow up.

And I would do breathing exercises regularly. It helped! I hope you feel better soon.

I’m so sorry to hear that I can’t imagine! I take hydroxyzine for anxiety every three hours and it helps so much. I hope you get on the mend and feel better very soon!

when i had COVID it wasnt that bad for me. i had a migraine for about three days and i stayed in bed with a fever the first two. my anxiety was getting really bad i was freaking out about being sick but for me at least it wasnt nearly as bad as other people say it was. my smell and taste were gone but other than that it wasnt much wore than when i had the flu. i just sat in bed and watched youtube.

I just recently started listening to relaxing podcasts. TV can be so negative.
