Hi! I have seizures that cause me to hallucinate sometimes when they happen. But my seizures are so small and unnoticeable that sometimes I notice I’m having a seizure by the hallucination after I come to my senses. They can be really scary like hearing sirens or laughter. They don’t make me paranoid, because it’s not a mental disorder, it’s coming from a epileptic seizure. But the strain of being “crazy” and also just going through this is starting to get to me. People don’t understand that it’s not like schizophrenia, it’s not constant, and I’m not paranoid or significantly depressed, or anything else. I’m on schizophrenia medication, but it hasn’t helped.

Look up information about biofeedback as well as neurofeedback and mindfulness meditation. Those are other treatment options for people with mental and neurological disorders.

I believe you're having bad post-icky trips. I have been there myself, and they are very different from schizophrenic hallucinations. You're right, it is hard to explain the difference to people in general. Doctors are even harder to get through to. Have you tried an anti-inflammatory prn? Something like turmeric or ginger could help to shorten the symptoms. Unfortunately, nsaids don't work. I usually have a cup of lemon ginger tea with a turmeric capsule. It seems to help a bit.

@faerywyrm My doctors and I have tried a variety of epilepsy therapies/medications. The more effective they are, the more effective it is at keeping away the hallucinations. I haven’t tried anything anti-inflammatory or herbal though. 🤔 Maybe you could dm me and explain to me why those would work/are worth considering.
