How do you guys deal/cope with people after you tell them you're on the spectrum? I don't get sarcasm a lot of times and get overstimulated from loud noises, and when I tell people this, they brush me off and tell me "Oh, you'll be able to get it with me" or just not take me seriously. It really bugs me and I hate telling people because of these reasons, but I don't want to be confused by cues that I'm not seeing anymore! I work in an office and it's hard sometimes, because my coworkers use a lot of sarcasm with inflections in their tones, but Im still missing it. What can I do?

same i've always had a really hard time making friends and my parents have always said that i will "just know" when someone doesn't feel like talking to me, i expected cues i didn't get and ended up getting people to hate me, now i've just learned to ignore when they say this lol

I feel that! Its easy for someone to say "everyone feels that way!" Or dismiss in an attempt to....reassure maybe?

@SunInAugust I have a coworker who gets sarcasm is hard for me so when I look confused they stop and explain they were kidding. Another started using /s in written conversation. The rest aren't gonna get it, so I just try and keep most of my communication light with thr ones that don't understand
