does anyone else experience long periods of paranoia when autistic or just general emotional outbreaks?

Paranoia isn’t a symptom I’ve ever heard of with autism, however that doesn’t mean they aren’t linked. I personally never dealt with paranoia, but my Autism does exasperate my emotions. I have never had a reason to feel paranoid, but when I get angry I have big outbursts, and I often can’t feel the difference between excitement and anxiety. I would suggest talking to a doctor about your paranoia.

All the time I feel like I have autism + borderline but my counselor insists it's just my bipolar. I've ruined all my relationships because I find it really hard to communicate my emotions and I feel like when I'm in a relationship I feel like I'm constantly being judged and punished.

Paranoia isn't really a symptom of autism, but of other more serious mental illness.

It doesn't even have to be for any reason or anything going on it just kinda happens and than I shut myself in

Yeah like high periods of anxiety for no reason and just being afraid over everything or the idea that something could go work

That could be it, I get very sensory overloaded at times and it clashed with that and it makes it a lot worse and I've been struggling on how to manage it

I wouldn’t go to paranoia, but I do get high anxiety. Do you mean just randomly for an extended period of time you feel paranoid?

ohh!! okay that makes way more sense, sorry!! i don't personally experience that, but maybe its like,,, a delayed meltdown? or little things that you don't even really notice piling up until it's overwhelming without knowing why ?

No no that isn't what I mean in some areas I get very paranoid even though I don't have any kind of paranoia diagnosis, which confuses me if any other autistic gets rly bad emotional outbursts at times for no reason I can't rly word rn bc it's late

im not really sure what u mean ? paranoia and autism are separate things and you don't stop being autistic at any point? like. for example i have psychotic episodes but i dont have autistic episodes bc i am always autistic. and i have paranoia, but its unrelated to my autism (it may be related to how i've been treated differently bc of autism, but im not sure about that gdjdh)
