I just wanna find out why I'm having such a hard time with taking ADHD meds. is there a way a doctor can look inside my brain chemicals and see what I'm low on and what I need. cuz apparently what's in ADHD pills is making my brain like bad and I get bad affects. so I need something else to help me.

Actually yes, but not your brain. Is called genetic drug testing. So your doc has to take some blood and swap your mouth, then they send it to a lab that tests you chemical levels and see what meds would work best for you! My sister had it done and we found out that adderal was not the right adhd med for her! It’s super cool! You should ask you psychiatrist about it.

I have been on my fair share of medications and I couldn't stand any of them. Im all for the natural route. I've started to see my adhd as a super power. Trying to find ways to work with it rather then against it. We just have to accept that our brains to work like those that are neurotypical and that's okay. I would suggest meditation and practicing the do it now motto.

Body type? Well I've tried 9 already and I have all bad affects. So I'm doomed with a life of struggling

@Bridgette Humans are mind body and spirit if you just treat the body only the mind in the spirit continue to suffer. For me it has been best to treat all three at once. I am a member of two different 12 step programs plus I eat nearly Perfect with very little sugar and I pray and meditate. I could not do this without the support of kind loving spiritually-based people.

I went to a psychiatrist and took the test that he gave me and he diagnosed me with ADHD and with the prescription for the medication. Over a one and a half year period I took three different types of meds because it is usually best to try different ones to make sure you have the best one for your body type. The psychiatrist will work out what is best for your body type.

Yes I'm on the lowest dose. Like is there any other medications that help with focus that doesn't have whatever ADHD meds have in them

You could try talking to a neuropsychologist but those are hard to come by. If you're having side effects have you tried a smaller dose?
