Why is it that my friends and Family don't seem to understand my extreme fear of going outdoors, I always get oh you'll be ok you'll be with me, surely they must realise it doesn't work that way, I went to have a blood test a couple of weeks ago, my mum took me in the car and I was shaking, I couldn't breath, my head was swirling, my legs were like jelly and my stomach was in knots by the time I got home I just wanted to go to bed and sleep

They don't understand because they've never felt it. People tend to think that everyone experiences feelings in more or less the same way they do. It's not necessarily wrong of them, it's natural, just unfortunate. It took my family years to take how I feel seriously, and sometimes they still don't. I have a friend who truly didn't believe in panic attacks until he developed panic disorder from a traumatic event.
