Questioning the Validity of a Medical Diagnosis

yeah i’ve found fibro is what you get when they don’t know what to give you. doesn’t make it less real though

I think they know what’s wrong (you are in pain), they just don’t what to do about it or why it’s happening. I’ve been labeled with CRPS, AMPS, and FM. And… nothing really changed? Not in my treatment, not how they talked about my prognosis. It went from “we don’t know what’s wrong with you” to “we know what’s wrong with you but we don’t know why”. Like, scientifically, yes I DON’T think they know what’s really going on and FM is just the term for the collection of symptoms we feel. HOWEVER they are trying to figure it out. For example, there is a genetic study at Duke trying to find if chronic pain is genetic and how to treat it if it is? It’s been a while since they explained it to me so I may be explaining it poorly. They just drew blood once lol. All I know is they’re trying and it’s definitely not a junk Dx

I think this is a legit diagnosis HOWEVER I don’t think it’s the only diagnosis.. I believe it’s like a secondary even if they haven’t found what’s truly wrong..
