I finally got prescribed Low-Dose Naltrexone for chronic fatigue syndrome. (I also have POTS and IBS/SIBO) I am wondering who else has any experience with this medication. It is pretty pricey where I am at but I am so willing to try it. I ask because I was prescribed 4.5 while I heard some people start at .25, .5, so on.. I will be picking it up from the compounding pharmacy soon. Thanks everyone!

@princessbun I tried it for about 3 months. It didn't help much, although I couldn't raise the dose because I learned that LDN can cause herx reactions, which it did for me.

4.5 is an extremely high dose. I started at like .25 lol. It did not work for me and made me very tired, but I am part of a Facebook group who say that it changed their lives! My mom’s fatigue had also improved drastically since being on LDN! Everyone is different, but I definitely would start on a much lower dose and then titrate up. It can cause some pretty nasty symptoms if you take too much right away! Crossing my fingers and praying it works for you ❤️❤️

My doctor suggested this to me in the office just the other day and I was thinking of doing it. Should I try it?
@Mcmeadow it's been a month so far and I havent noticed much other than I'm taking my salt pills less.

I was just prescribed this too. I hope it helps the both of us 😸 I was told to start at 0.5 and increase gradually but everyone’s dosing situation is different.

Are they having you start at 4.5?????? You really need to titrate up. I’m no doctor of course but beware of extra side effects starting at the high dose! I add 0.5 every three days. I’m just getting to the full 4.5 now and it seems to be working!
