does anyone have any tips for beating executive dysfunction and actually learning how to start tasks? actually getting into doing the things tends to be the hardest part for me.

This is a big struggle for me too. I learned some things from a YouTube channel called HowToADHD. She said that when we can’t start something, it is because it is too big of a task so we need to break it down. I’m in school right now, so sometimes I make a checklist. Stand up, go to desk, open computer, open (school website), open this assignment, read assignment, do number 1, do number 2. Sometimes that overwhelms me more, but sometimes it helps me because I know what I need to do. Also, sometimes it helps me get going if I move to another room or if I throw my phone across the room (if that is the problem). Sometimes it works for me to do a Pomodoro timer for 50 minutes then 5 minutes I stand up. I got a timer called the TimeTimer that you can easily see how long is left, it’s on Amazon. With the Pomodoro, it only works if I think “okay, I need to put away my phone for only __ minutes and work. That’s not so bad”. I also like to watch study with me videos on YouTube while I work because it keeps my phone busy and kinda motivates me because it’s like there is another person. I also love the “lofi study girl” videos to study with. By the way, I only know these things because it is so hard for me to do stuff, I’m not trying to seem like a know it all haha! Also I really like that YouTube channel I mentioned, sometimes watching those videos motivates me to work.

I also heard you have trouble staying focused I got you because I have the same thing but I have ADHD too but what I do is I use my weak hand because when I use my weak hand your brain is so focused on trying to not mess up but do that for 5-20 minutes than go back to dominate hand and trust me it will work not only that drink 1 gallon of water and remember take some break in between!!!!!!!
