my husband and I are both disabled and waiting indefinitely for government assistance, haven't been able to pay bills in months and needed to get WiFi calling apps bc our phones got disconnected. there are several mobility aids and supplements we have no way of affording that would give me freedom to do more basic tasks. My dad helps how he can but has a lot of expenses himself. My ever-out-of-touch mother just took my brother to Spain bc there's a festival he wanted to see. Hasn't offered any kind of support to her own disabled daughter. I knew growing up she liked my brother more, it just hurts to see it so blatant now.

I applied for the affordable connectivity program through the government and they are paying $30 towards my Internet and I see that they have a program for phones also. if you receive any kind of help at all, you might qualify for these programs, google it online it took me five minutes to fill out the form online and immediately they gave me a number and I contacted midcontinent. I gave him the number and there now paying $30 towards my Internet fees.

Your mum's behaviour is awful but don't forget she is the one who is wrong. Not you. She should treat both of you the same but that is her decision, not yours. What is your decision is allow her behaviour to affect you. You didn't choose who is your mum and you didn't do anything to deserve what she does. She should help you but she doesn't and it is not on you. Try to keep that in mind as much as possible. Can you push the government to get the help you need? Phone social services? Charities? GoFundMe? Are you in the UK? You get a lot of help here when it is needed. I hope your situation improves soon x

I find that mothers always prefer their sons and scold their daughters for even existing. It's a special kind of misogyny.
