Melatonin helps, my doc says I have low vitamin d which may contribute to it, also going through some big life changes as well

Yeah I’ve been dealing with insomnia for a few months and it’s taking quite a toll on my life. Figured I’d try this out

My gist: Definitely try all avenues of help, proper sleep hygiene is SO IMPORTANT to health and quality of life... But gear up your emotional barrier beforehand, and try not to be shattered if something you were looking forward to turns out to seem apathetic 🙏

This is the one thing I really will go off on the "nobody cares" rant with. Like, seriously, one-hundred-percent — nobody legitimately cares if someone *else* has sleep problems, no matter how severe. Chuck Palahniuk wrote a whole dang book about it, and they turned it into a movie that made Pitt and Norton's careers—and still nobody cares! Just watch the scene with the doctor who completely blows him off, and then *denies his concern for his experience* and follows up by feeding him a side of toxic positivity—which is the impetus for the entire rest of the plot and beginning of the downfall of society itself in this world they live in... All because he couldn't toss the guy some sleeping pills or forward him to a sleep study or trauma therapist. —"You need to lie down.* —"Can you please just give me something? (Red and blue tuinals, lipstick red seconals...)" —"...No. you need healthy, natural sleep. Chew some Valerian root and get more exercise." —"Hey, c'mon, I'm in pain!" —"You want to see pain? Swing by First Methodist Tuesday nights, see the guys with testicular cancer, that's pain." He wouldn't have met Marla (a sleep disorder sufferer herself who doesn't care about his problems, nor even her own—but just uses the meetings as a way to hook up and self-medicate rather than accept and care for a single human who suffers from this), Bob would not have died, Angelface would not have been disfigured and psychologically shattered, all the businesses which were affected by Project Mayhem and its members (and their families' lives) would have kept on their heartless corporate paths to capital gains, etc, all the way down to the stock market crash... This story held true when I was going through the absolute worst of my insomnia (2 months. 2 months without voluntary sleep. You wanna see Hell? Try to even match that and your life won't be worth living anymore), and nothing has changed since. Just look at what happened to the energy drink market since the release of that film. 😮‍💨

And say it wasn't worth trying, I said I can't imagine how it would help. Supposed to literally only said "thoughts on"?

I cant even imagine how this would help anything. Life-long sleep issues, IME nothing works and not a single person who is paid to or says they do cares one bit wt all to help.
