Hey, I was wondering what ways you’ve been able to manage anxiety and if anxiety medication might be a good route.

Give yourself permission to listen to your body and your mind. I know that may sound vague, but it will make sense in time!

Ive had to do a LOT of things to manage anxiety. Like, so many things that are all different that cumulatively have helped me develop better coping. The first thing was not telling myself i shouldn't be feeling anxiety-- taking away the shame i felt for being anxious at all. Then there are the other things like taking walks in nature or spending time with animals or choosing to do things that take time like cooking meals or learning an instrument. Then there is the herbal medicine route like Ashwaganda or passion flower or kava or chamomile... but definitely do research on those! Good luck!!!

For me, taking meds was one of the worst decisions I've ever made, as it gave horrible side effects, made my anxiety worse, and resulted in my brain feeling permanently off (never been the same after taking it, and family members also noticed the change in me) That being said, I know it helps many people since everyone is different- I still feel tempted to try something else medication-wise, but I'm too afraid after that first experience. I suggest talking to your doctor if you want to take something, and if something feels off, let them know ASAP! Best of luck 💜

My doctor tried several different anxiety medications for me but most of them made my depression significantly worst. Now I try and avoid anxiety meds instead I drink less caffeine and listen to music any time I get really anxious

I personally haven't found a good medication for anxiety but if you ask your doctor you probably could! Personally what helps me best during a panic attack or anxiety is grounding (name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste). Trying to feel my surroundings also helps me (focusing on the feeling of my back in a chair, my arms on the table, the blanket on my legs, ect)
