Difficulty getting prescribed pain medication

Took me awhile to even get a doctor who I felt understood my pain. They all wanted to prescribe medical Marijuana or physical therapy or other kinds of meds or muscle relaxers that didn't work I had to switch doctors three or four timesfinally one seemed to understand how bad I was struggling and put me on percacet pain med. It been working I feel alot better than I did

Also on LDN works pretty good it has some good properties to it as well for the anti-inflammation card and the lowering of opioid tolerance it helps out towards when you need surgery and everything so they don't have to give you as much anesthesia

Oh my God I can complain about this all day it takes me so much effing time to get my God damn prescription it's not even funny I hate going to the doctors just for this issue I literally be fighting about this for the rest of my life I have my insurance company that approved me for Opana and dilaudid to the year 9,999 and still I have issues these people are evil they throw it out to people that don't need it or when people actually need it they don't give it to you it's ridiculous!!!!!!

I have to say I've experiences similar issue but if you ever are in that type of pain where you actually need Dilaudid you should always get prescribed movantik it makes it so you can use the restroom again and reverse the part of the brain that makes you not be able to go to the restroom when you're on opioids I've been taking opioids for about 10 years now and I've noticed an amazing change once I started taking movantik it works it's a miracle for people that really need the pain medication

yes. always. the only medication I didn't struggle to get a prescription for was gabapentin, and idk if I'm gonna be able to get a higher dosage since it's not working as well anymore. I didn't even get pain meds when I had major surgery for endometriosis, which also resulted in ischemic bowel because of the location of some of my scar tissue! I got Dilaudid when the blockage got so bad I went to the ER, but nothing to go home with and no treatment for the blockage other than being told to take laxatives when I got home (DON'T DO THAT btw)

It depends on the meds. I’ve found most doctors are very willing (almost too willing) to prescribe a bunch of different meds (especially those approved for fibromyalgia) but opioids for example is a different story. I was on tramadol for a while (like a mild opioid) and my doctor was willing to prescribe it after I tried other meds, but I only took it as needed rather than daily. She wasn’t stoked I was on it and it was definitely a short term thing. But meds like cymbalta or gabapentin are easy to get in my experience. I’m currently on LDN (Low dose naltrexone) which isn’t FDA approved for fibro. Because of that some people have a hard time getting it, but my doctor looked into it and was willing right away. It all depends! But finding a doctor who is willing to listen to your experience and try new things is so helpful

For my fibro I'm not on "pain meds" I'm on gabapentin, and muscle relaxers. And they make a world of difference.

Struggle like crazy! Back in the day, like 2008 I had access to whatever I needed to live a productive life. 2022, hell to the no. It’s torturous to get anytime to prescribe things.

TW: After explaining to my doctor that my Fibromyalgia pain was out of control and starting to take over he tried me on Cymbalta (made me Sui$**al). Then he tried me on Prozac. Which did nothing for the fibro pain. Now I'm on Lyrica 2x a day and tbh i have no idea if it's doing anything. I don't see a ton of change. But it's only been like 3 weeks? Hope this helps!
