@Swellgal I eat almonds and walnut’s but thoroughly chew. I add them to yogurt.

I looked up collagen peptides and I didn’t know this but diverticulitis is caused by a buildup of collagen in the intestines so that was definitely the wrong thing for me to take. Just heard it helps with weight loss, but not something I can take apparently. I never knew there was a diverticulitis tea! Where do you get it from?
I’m having a flare up right now I didn’t eat anything that I can think of that would have caused it. But I took collagen peptides which I don’t think is good for it at all. I’ll try your drinking water suggestion! Thank you!!

For me the last four times have been: 1st time; over eating and not enough water 2nd time; Spanish peanuts. 3rd time; Spanish peanuts. The last time; over eating and not enough water. I get “flare ups” now and then that haven’t required either hospitalization or antibiotics but it’s always from not enough water and over eating. Water is so important so when I feel that familiar “sharpness” in my colon I immediately drink 20 ounces of water and within a couple hours it’s gone. Staying regular with bowel movements is important and I just ordered diverticulitis tea which I am going to start drinking at night before bed.

@Josie0119 for me 1st time it was spicy Korean food. 2nd was polish sausage (can’t have the skin/casing). Popcorn has made me feel a slight pain but it went away unlike the first two which needed antibiotics to go away. I still eat popcorn sometimes but only a small amount. I was also told no seeds no corn or popcorn. Also when it’s flared up no fiber but when it’s ok fiber is very helpful and good for diverticulitis.

@ElaineP - I have been struggling with D for years. I always end up with the strong antibiotics because I am afraid to wait too long and have a possible rupture. I have had cat scans that confirmed the diagnoses. Also the pain gets progressively worse. I am so worried about waiting too long. I guess I'm not a fortunate one to let it subside on its own. 😥
@Josie0119 it was told to me that we’re not allowed to eat any kind of nuts at all. Or seeds Or popcorn or any little thing that could get in your intestines and aggravate them
@Swellgal I eat popcorn and nuts and seeds but I chew it so well it’s liquified but the time I swallow it. As Elaine said the skin of things which makes sense with the Spanish peanuts…
