TRIGGER WORD WARNING: i was in an argument with my (now ex) significant other shortly after i was diagnosed. She kept repeating things and talking down to me. So i looked her dead in the eye and said "I'm depressed, not retarded". Her jaw dropped and she realized how she was speaking to me. She apologized and we hugged. Still one of my funniest comebacks In my opinion.

I mean ableist slurs arenā€™t necessary but yeah. I canā€™t even tell my partner that I feel like Iā€™m being treated like Iā€™m stupid without being met with anger and gaslighting
