I'm feeling sick today, but don't have any symptoms. I think it's malaise. I'm at work and want to ask to go home, but I don't want to be seen as lazy. I had to leave early last Saturday because I was in presyncope and couldn't recover at work. I also had a busy week with no days off, but I'm not sure if that's a valid reason to ask to leave early. Any advice?

@Lunarr thank you for the response! I found out that it actually wasn't a symptom flare up. I'm just sick lol. I had to take a day off of work and rest, and I'm still working on getting over it now.

I know this is a week late but please never feel like taking time off work for chronic illness makes you lazy or a bad employee. Sounds like you had a taxing week, it makes sense that your symptoms would flare. Do you have accommodations through your employer? If not please get on that, then they legally have to grant you things like leaving early, etc. It's not your fault that you're sick and you don't need to push yourself into a worse flare just because you feel socially obligated to. If a coworker began coming down with the flu at work they would be allowed to leave, same with you except your illness never goes away. Your health comes first, always, don't let internalized ableism get to you

@Entropyluna I hope you feel better soon! The struggle of "is this a new symptom or am I just normal sick" is wild for sure, but both warrant time off of work I think
