Okay this is a tough one. I hope someone could have some insight. I seem to be alone on this as far as I have come across unfortunately so idk where else to turn. My environmental allergies are really really bad. I was looking for it on the list of things but it's not an option. basically it's like seasonal allergies but for me it's all year round. It's not just all year around though. Ever since covid started, my allergies just multiplied. Has anyone experienced this? I can't come within 2 long city blocks of a park without almost immediate anaphylaxis. I swell up, I can't breathe through my nose or my mouth, I cough up a shit ton of never ending mucus, my eyes swell up, and I try to breathe and try to decongest but it's impossible and I will stay that way no matter how many allergy medications I take. Worst part is I feel like no one takes how bad it is for me seriously. I have tried them all. benadryl, Zyzol, Zertec, Claritin, I even have the Zertec wipes. It helps the tiniest bit but even when it all gets better, the same night of those outings, my body goes through it all over again as if it's happening again. my nose closes up, I gasp for air, I swell and sometimes I can't get anything out to help alleviate the sensation of dying by drowning. On top of the allergy medications I have also been put on antibiotics and steroids so often that my Avascular Necrosis advanced and my stomach has been almost completely destroyed. I saw an allergy specialist and insisted that they do a blood test to check for all of my allergies instead of scrape tests because they kept telling me that they are equipped for the situation but I know they are not. It is a tiny office and if an epi pen were enough for me it would have done the trick when I accidentally ate Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey, blissfully unaware that it had banana and walnuts. They finally agreed to it but then the blood test came back as me not having any allergies and I called BS but they insisted that the test was right and if I thought otherwise then I have to go get the scrape test done. This doctor is supposedly one of the best doctors in America and I have the misfortune of not having any other places for option. Idk why my area is lacking an allergy specialist, but we have like three new lipo clinics even though we are all lower to middle class. I digress, but it pisses me off. The doctor's office is on a block with a ridiculous amount of trees for an urban setting. Even if it were suburban it would be too much, and on top of that there are plants growing like wilderness all over the clinic. I do not want to go back, but my situation is escalating and she refuses to help me without a scrape test. Words cannot express how scared I am. It's 1:35am here right now and I am awake because I cannot breathe and always going through this is surreal. I feel like I am escaping death every night without going into a building surrounded by more than enough to kill me but I also feel like the way this is going, I may not wake up eventually and of all the health issues I have, it will be over bullshit like allergies. I know there are immune shots and I really want to get them, but if anyone has anything, ANYTHING to suggest, pleeeaaaase help! There is one other place I may be able to travel to. It's across the street from a park full of grass and trees but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to go by getting immune shots without going to the clinic that prescribes it, I am desperate. It doesn't have to do with immune shots either. I have tried a humidifier and I have that machine that cleans out the nose. When my nose is too swollen, the saline water goes in but doesn't fully come out. It. Is. horrifying. I also do a lot of tea. I have done by best to educate myself on herbal remedies. My stomach hasn't been tolerating them lately though. Not that they do enough anyway. I eat chicken soup almost every day and it is a very very temporary help. Cannabis is not an option. I will projectile vomit. CBD makes my stomach feel like it's ripping apart. That's about the jest of common suggestions I think. I'm sorry I am a difficult case. Also apologies. I tried cleaning up my rant but when I am stressed, I can never quite type out of a cluster.

I found specific pollen honey to pollen I'm sensitive to (orange blossom honey and Texas Wildflower honey) and they work for me like a quick decongestant. I've been told that honey suggestions can be dangerous for people though, so be careful. I also want to point out that some of my biggest allergy struggles was being told by a doctor that an allergy at a level 1 response was not a big deal and I could ignore it. For me, that is egg and soy. They are in everything and it builds up in my system and makes me feel like I'm drowning outside of the water. And recently I found that decongestants use SOY LECTIN in the dang pills!!!! Which is why I kept feeling like they would work for only about 15 minutes.

I've heard allergy meds can throw off allergy testing. Also, the blood test for allergens (IgE tests) are only able to identify the allergic reaction to specific allergens in your blood stream when you've eaten it recently. So if you got the blood test something like a week after that Ben & Jerry's ice cream, it would be too late to catch the allergen responses. You would need the scratch test to confirm the things you are avoiding are the things you are allergic to.

I am also one of those people with a list of allergies that people snicker at. I've had an allergist tell me he won't see me. I get where you're coming from. A few things I have learned. When my body is overwhelmed by something else, my allergies explode and are completely out of control. I also develop new ones. Before I knew I had cervical cancer, I suddenly developed a severe reaction to shrimp but no other shellfish Before I knew I had ovarian cancer I developed a latex allergy that showed up like a Christmas tree rash on my back Since then, I have also been diagnosed with arthritis. Most of the time, I can just get through a day without much thought. But, there are times during the year when my arthritis will flare and then my allergies will join in. I'll spend weeks or months trying to get my body to calm back down. But because my arthritis is in my neck, the first symptoms are a headache, sinus tension and feeling just worn out. For me and my allergies, that could be any other day. So it's taken some honest conversations with the Dr and me having to pay attention. I would suggest seeing an internal medicine Dr. I feel they are able to understand how the body systems work together.

I'm about a month late due to hospitalization and depression, but yeah idk. When it comes to environmental allergies even my primary agrees I have allergies. For the longest I used to cave over cute dogs but it eventually had to stop because it eccelerated my allergies. I went from sniffles and a little puffiness, to throat closing, coughing until my throat was bleeding and not being able to breathe to the point where I was light headed. Nowadays my go to reaction seems to be anaphylaxis just for looking at anything that has fur, feathers, or grows from dirt. I brought up my concerns to my PCP and he said that I definitely am in no condition to get scrape tested. If I were cruel enough, these doctors would have an easy lawsuit on their hands and I would be hospitalized with a big check coming my way.

No need to apologize, ranting is therapeutic! Have you been to any other specialists in case it isn't an allergy? I attempted to read an interview of an allergist explaining how misunderstood allergies are in the general public (I obviously understood little of it) and I thought I was allergic to milk for most of my adolescence but it turned out I wasn't, it was gluten. The gluten just caused so much damage that other things started causing reactions too. Sorry I can't help specifically šŸ˜Ÿ I know it's shitty when people don't take you seriously. Migraines and allergies seem to be common targets....
