I used to get horrible anxiety at night. What really helped me was to sleep on the floor. Not on the hard floor, but maybe a couch cushion or two underneath me. Feeling physically grounded helped me feel more connected to my environment and current state and calmed me down. Another thing that I found myself doing was writing. But specifically writing as if I was writing a letter to someone. I imagine what I would say to a best friend or a close family member who needs encouragement and I write it out as if I’m writing it to them, but in reality it’s just a letter to myself. The more you read and write something the more you remember it. And the positive affirmations usually stick in my mind

Panic attacks wake me up in the middle of the night, white noise, chamomile tea and a Shower before bed helps me a lot!

I started writing in a journal which I originally thought was silly but actually helps me! I also listen to acoustic/piano instrumental music and focus on my breathing

I find listening to Michael Seeley or Jasen Stephenson guided meditation tapes for anxiety on you tube help me. The Honest Guys have an 8 hr continually voiced one I sleep with ear buds every night. Only thing that helps me sleep

i think what helps me most is to try to distract myself. whenever i try to focus on controlling my breathing it makes my anxiety much worse. usually i ask someone to tell me a story or talk about their day so i think about that instead. if no one’s around i watch silly videos online to release some stress and tension
