I have CFS and because of that I spend 90% of my time wither asleep or in bed, unable to stand or do much. because of that I have a tin of simple hobbies. my most recent hyper focus has been Crochet. I'm making my Nana a blanket via crochet. what do you all do when stuck in bed?

@Stormborne ours sleeps between us and she purrs almost constantly which apparently has a very minor anti pain and anti nausea effect? My partner found some article about that somewhere after she'd snuggle and purr between his stomach and my back and it relieved some of our pain and nausea night after night. It's definitely not enough that it actually goes away or even always brings it to a managable level, but it was noticable which is weird and surprising. She's also began wagging her tail like a dog while we play fetch these last few days, it's so strange and fun lol

I used to love to read, but find it hard to stay focused. So now I listen to audio books πŸ“š πŸ™‚

I also have CFS that badly, on my best days i can get out of the house for about 2 hous with no ill effect, a little longer if im using a wheelchair but other than that im mostly bedbound. I like playing video games and watching movies with my partner, we have a cat who will bring her toys to our bed to play, and I like drawing a lot.

@AnimalBoy same, its hard because I am good at hiding now awful I feel. I act bubbly lots as it makes others comfortable and I was raised with the motto /even if you are having a bad day, doesn't mean you can make other peoples days bad/ so I get asked to do chores and even when they are understanding about why i cant i can often tell they think I'm being lazy. When I'm not and if i act how I feel it starts arguing and I hate arguing as its tiring so I just keep smiling like nothings wrong

@ClayBrooks there's definitely a line between asking for help and accommodations and making other people's day bad, and I'm sure they expect their chores and such to be skipped or taken over by someone else when they're sick without considering it to be that big of a deal. Have you tried renegotiating which chores you do and when? It really helped me to only do weekly chores I could schedule myself for the most part that way it could be as efficient for me as possible.

When I have the energy, I crochet, embroider, read, and write. It's nice to do something fun and relaxing when I can't do much else.
