I just went to the gyno for the first time for concerning symptoms, my family has a long history of cervical and colon cancer (all four of my great grandparents died from it, except one but that was pancreatic..) and PCOS. I had A pap smear done, a physical hand exam, and an ultrasound. Then some blood work to rule out STDs After all of that was done my dr wanted me to meet back in the room i was first placed into to talk and she said something along these lines. "I know your symptoms are genuine you tell them with honesty, but in my 9 years of practice I've never been this stumped. we have ruled out endometriosis, pcos, cancer, bacterial infection, stds. BUT, i still dont know what's going on with you. I'm going to have to ask you come back in a month when I have studied other rarer vaginal diseases and disorders and infections, I can provide you answers within one day two days or so on usually but this one i cannot. I'm going to go ahead and put you on an antibiotic in case I overlooked a bacterial infection, but you have none of those symptoms like foul smell or bad colored discharge, I'm going to get you blood work to rule out other STDs even though i don't see those symptoms but theres always a possibility i could have overlooked something. But, im just going to have to send you home for now and wait for those results and if theyre all negative. I'll find something and I won't just give up on you." I'm confused? And scared. I don't know how a Dr could say that to me and my mother haha šŸ¤£ They said that the ultrasound and physical exam yeilded nothing besides the fact my my uterus was ever so slightly enlarged like just a smidge? Symptoms are : Intense bleeding after orgasm (no penetration?!), sharp pain during orgasm, lower back pain, fatigue but as i can tell for now nothing else ? I'm worried they overlooked something simple or complex and that within a month it will get even worse, any thoughts? I've thought about even going to different obgyn offices and getting second and third opinions šŸ˜šŸ™
