I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple months ago and I've noticed the excessive hair growth. I don't feel pretty. I literally had to shave my stomach for the first time yesterday :( How do you cope with the excess hair?

I bought a good razor and a wax pot. Remember to have a good soak and use a body scrub before waxing/shaving to soften the hair, remove dead skin, and go slow to prevent ingrown hairs and/or razor bumps and cuts. And always use a shave foam or oil and lots of lotion after

I started getting upper lip and chin hairs in 2020 and just ignored it because we started masking and no one is seeing my face. Now that those restrictions are loosening and my problem is at a peak with a number of the hairs coming ingrown. I’m a notorious skin picker so I now have like scabbing and scars. I finally bit the bullet and went to the doc and dang I wish I did it sooner!! She prescribed Spironolactone which is to help moderate the hormones responsible as well as some things to help my skin heal. I just started this week but it does feel nice to feel like Im doing something to help it
I pluck and shave mine, but it is a pain in the butt. There are a couple of medications they can prescribe to help and I'm thinking of asking my doctor about them.
This has been one of the things I struggle with too. Aside from waxing, I’ve also tried using an electric razor, for the times between waxing where it just bothered me too much.
I understand how you feel! The hair growth on my chin has been insane. It started out with me only having to pluck a few every week or so and progressed to me having to shave every other day or it's so noticable. And I ALWAYS have stubble, even on the days I shave. I'm constantly breaking out from shaving and it's exhausting. I've been looking into sugar wax. Supposedly it's not as painful, easier on your skin and lasts longer!

@DivineFae the down side to wax is you must let the hair grow to a waxable length between sessions. You'll be hairless 2/3.5 weeks with regular waxing
@Sunflower.System for me I guess that's pretty easy, I think within a week I will be at waxable length. After 3 days I can grab ahold of it.
