I just moved to a whole new state and I really don't want to be alive right now. I left my 2 best (and only) friends back home and it's a 5 hour drive to see them. I can't make friends here because I have such crippling anxiety. I've been friends with one of them for over 10 years and I've been friends with the other for 6. It's gotten more and more difficult to socialize and I feel like my anxiety has only gotten worse. The idea of trying to meet anyone new is so terrifying that I hear ringing just thinking about it.

Remember that those long distance friendships still count. You are so important to those people and I’m super many others as well. Making new friends is hard, but I usually try to find other people who seem shy like me, and that usually helps me warm up to them. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you’re doing alright ❤️

i think i just commented on another one of your posts so sorry for the notif bomb;; again i completely relate. i've been moving so often throughout my life i had to start over with making friends almost every year. every other year if i got lucky. i'm an introvert, am kiiinda clingy with my best friends, and hate separation, so it doesn't help that i constantly had to leave friends and end up having to make new ones. and, for me, too, it got more difficult to make friends the older i got. the "making friends" part will prolly still be just as difficult, but know that your people are out there, people who will like you and love to be your friends—no matter where you go or how many times you move. it just might take some time and trial and error to find them. in the meantime, be gentle with yourself and take socializing one step and one event at a time. cheering for you ♡
