Okay so after my first autism evaluation I decided to get a second opinion considering I was “on the cusp” of the spectrum but I wasn’t autistic enough apparently and the Psychologist also hasn’t diagnosed any black autistic girls so I am going to see a black nurse psychologist who diagnoses and deals with autism and hopefully I’ll see someone with more insight on autistic traits in black girls. And also someone who just listens more and asks more questions about me and my traits in both childhood and adulthood

@Entropyluna and the psychologist I’m not sure whether they were aware of the bias but more that even if they did they’ve never diagnosed black autistic girls they’ve seen and that with the tools present wouldn’t really help

Hi, I would like to preface this comment by saying that I am not asking this to be rude at all. I am just ignorant when it comes to certain racial issues, and would like to be educated. I'm aware that mental health issues present differently in AMAB versus AFAB people. I am also aware that there is an incredible bias in the medical field, with POCs and women getting significantly worse treatment. POCs get worse treatment than white women. Based on your post, I'm confused as to whether the issue you had was based solely on a racial bias, or if autism can present differently in POCs and the psychologist you saw was unaware of this difference. I apologize if this is rude. I'm rarely aware of when I'm being rude, and I can assure you that that is not my intention.

@Entropyluna it didn’t seem much like racial bias but more as the tools that are used mainly for diagnosing autism is racially biased if that makes sense. And also too that with the tools used it seems to miss the way certain traits are represented in women and especially black women.
