hi i’m cj i’m struggling so much with my new recovery body. i can’t help but to look back at old pictures when i was ill. it hurts to miss it and want it back. if you’re in recovery, how do you deal with the constant reminder that your body has changed for the better even though voices in your mind keep telling you that recovery was mistake and this new body is invalid?

i know exactly how you feel. it’s really really awful to feel like you’d be happier at your smallest when you know you were still miserable. i haven’t exactly found a way to stop wishing for my old body yet, but it does help me to bring myself back to reality and remind myself that just because i thought i looked better does not mean i can forget that it was unhealthy for me.
