Last year in November I had Covid. After 2 weeks of not feeling myself, I thought I would bounce back to normal. That didn’t happen. I was feeling so tired, no energy, loosing weight and my hair was falling out. I thought I had Long-Covid. Went to my physician and she told me to excessive more and take vitamins. I have been doing both, so why am I feeling so crappy!!! I went to a different physician to try and get some answers. The new physician did some blood tests and found out I had hyperthyroidism. This was in February. So I did some research myself and started a new diet. It was going pretty good, but I wasn’t feeling any different. So, I contacted a functional medicine office. Had a consultation with a nurse, free of charge. I was told to get more blood work done, at my expense and meet with them in 2, weeks. This is June already and I’m feeling a little better at this point. I met with the nurse again and found out that I have Graves’ disease. She gave me instructions for a new diet. This one was so much different then what I was used to. No dairy, no gluten, no red meat, no sugars, no soy and no alcohol. I’m thinking to myself, what the heck am I going to eat. I did more research. I had to read labels and find different recipes for me to follow. This was hard and I started loosing weight more rapidly. My husband was getting a little nervous. After 3 days go by from my meeting, the functional medicine office calls me to say they can’t help me, I need to see an Endocrinologist. I was so disappointed and upset at this point. I have been sticking to my diet, some aches and pains have gone away. I still don’t have a lot of energy or sleep well. I have lost a total of 23 pounds to date. My weight was 141 to start. I’m hoping this other doctor can help me. I feel like I’m melting away. This is not a good feeling. Thanks for letting me vent!!!! Terri B
