Hey guys. I’ve just been diagnosed with BPD. The symptoms have been lifelong, but I’ve never received treatment for it. What has been the most helpful medication for you? What coping mechanisms truly help with an episode? I’m also diagnosed with ADHD. Looking for a little advice while I wait for therapy. Thanks a bunch.

im currently on BuSpar which has worked amazingly for it, my biggest thing that helps is recognizing when the panic or anger or other strong emotion is from bpd then doing your best to not act on it or figuring out how to act on it in a positive way

Hello, I've taken lamictal which worked pretty well but it didn't help with my major depressive disorder so I've been taking just Cymbalta and gabapentin. Mindfulness is the key during an episode, get control of your thoughts and you can control your emotions. Good luck to you I know being diagnosed with BPD sucks but at the same time you realize "oh, that's what is wrong with me" lol. 😆

hi! i also have bpd & adhd! im on lamictal/lamotrigine rn which is a mood stabilizer & it’s the only med that’s worked for me so far. it’s helped improve my adhd symptoms too. that combined w dbt skills (mindfulness is huge) has been v helpful overall
