I’ve been at my new job for about a month, and I’m still on orientation. The lady I shadow has been super rude and short with me all day and I got to a point where I was crying, even at the desk. How do I stop letting others affect me and stop caring about if they like me or not?

Take a breath and try to step out of the situation. Maybe it has nothing to do with you. Maybe she was having a bad day. So if you did nothing wrong, live your life in a way that projects who you really are, not what others think of you. My psychiatrist told me that I am very stable now, even more stable than some of his colleagues who are trying to help others. Therefore what im trying to say is that, shift your mental perspective. Instead of perceiving others as yourself, be in your shoes and walk at your on pace. Live as your own person and be who you are, not them or somebody else. Hope this helps 💕 💕 💕

One way to stop letting others affect you is to remind yourself that their behavior might not be about you, but rather their own issues or stress. Focus on your work and building relationships with other colleagues. Remember that you were chosen for the job because someone believed in your abilities, and it's normal to have a settling-in period. Try to keep interactions with the rude person strictly professional and don't let their negativity define your experience at work.
