Anyone else feel frustrated with doctors not factoring in that autism by definition means yoy experience emotions differently?? 😮‍💨 Not happy about going on lamictal, but hoping it helps with the PTSD more than anything

      I’m also on lamictal. I started it for bipolar disorder and had my dosage increased when I was diagnosed with ptsd because my emotional outbursts (a lot of anger and rage) became severe. Increasing my dosage significantly reduced the outbursts I had.

      I'm on that med! It was life-changing. It increases the communication between both hemispheres of your brain. It's primarily used for seizures!

      From the people I've talked to and from my experiences, lamictal is actually SUPER nice for PTSD. it's new age, and works to basically rewire your brain to fire off less during an emotional spike or drop. It's basically a mood stabilizer for PTSD. I found it's really helpful in my life! I also am neurodivergent and my medication helps me handle meltdowns a little better
