I cannot motivate myself to declutter my house. Every day off I get I just crash instead of doing something productive. How do I take care of my house when I barely feel like taking care of myself?

I am struggling with this too! But I’m the past, it has helped me to just pick something up, just do something while I’m already standing up. Like if I get up to eat or go to the bathroom, I’ll just pick up a few things and I feel kinda accomplished and then it is easier to keep going. I think it’s the hardest thing to think about it, so when I start doing it I feel more like it’s possible.

This may not be a popular answer but I have literally hired people to clean and Declutter for me. If you have friends who are willing to help out it really helps to get somebody to do it with you and that’s the only thing that’ll motivate me is somebody else taking charge and helping me or doing most of the work basically. Good luck.

I clean in a clock wise manner. Each area of my room becomes an hour on the clock. I start at 12 o’clock and I can’t move to 1pm until I complete the task in the 12 o’clock area. Do this for 15 minutes and then do something you enjoy for 15 minutes. After the small break continue cleaning in 15 minutes increments alternating with breaks in between. Stop when you feel exhausted or like you can’t do anymore. Also make a place for everything, this place will become the items HOME . After you use an item put it back in its home. Before you know it putting things back where they being will become a habit. Home this helps.

Set a time for no MORE than 15 minutes! You can manage that! After you have finished your task check in with yourself! Can you keep going? Cool! If not that’s rad too! Also music or a podcast or just something playing in the background occupies my brain enough that my body can actualy do stuff! ❤️ happy decluttering

The best I can recommend is put on some music to help motivate/energize you, and start w a corner of a room. Do a little at a time. Eventually you’ll be so proud of yourself (and the feeling of a clean environment feels less chaotic internally too), you’ll want to keep it up :)
