Living with SLE: Seeking Support

I was diagnosed 15 years ago. I have found that no matter if people believe you or don’t believe you, you have to advocate for yourself and your healthcare. No one knows how you feel but yourself and this is a fickle disease and no two people are alike. I still struggle trying to take it easy when I need to and I still get my feelings hurt when people don’t believe me when I say I don’t feel good. I am basically a shy person and having this disease has helped me learn to stand up for myself.
