it took a few months. Its been years ago. I had a really good lawyer. I also think it was because FMS was so new. Was not military. Find you a good lawyer. Most will talk to you for free & I believe they don't charge you. Just take their fee out after you win. But that was years ago! I so could be wrong.

yeah, I have a lawyer, but SS is now taking up to 6 - 10 months. I'm so depressed, I'm in such pain, I don't feel I can work anymore, therefore I'm broke and my life seems hopeless.

It took me 8 years, but I was only 39 when I first applied Andy age worked against me. My SSDI insurance ran out because I couldn't work for so long. I got SSI right away this last time I applied. They sent me to their doctors because my records weren't enough. I tried a representative and then a lawyer and end up getting it myself. My suggestions would to be make sure your doctors are on board and that they document everything. I was told you need to have a pressure point check at every visit. My doc stopped doing it because it hurt so bad. Neither of us knew I needed it. Find a good reputable lawyer. They take their fees out of your settlement payments (back pay from when you first applied).

Thank you everyone. I'm waiting to see the rheumatologist. I've heard that will help my case. I still have to work when I can even though I feel like I can't stand up straight at the end of my shift. I'm putting a lot of pressure of my doctors to get the paperwork completed. I'll let you all know how it goes.
