i try to get fresh outside air, some sunlight, and spend some time stretching. i definitely second that showering helps, too.

I don’t try to suppress it, I feel the feelings! Cry it out! And then once I calm down a little I call a friend or family member. Talking it out helps, but first I need to feel what I’m feeling, as long as it doesn’t lead to any destructive actions! Then talking it through allows me to start challenging those thoughts and process why I’m feeling how I am. If you don’t have someone to talk to, writing or just talking to yourself helps too!! And then I finish it off my doing something that makes me happy. I personally read, but you can do anything!
On bad days, I make myself shower. Somehow that simple task makes me feel completely better 99.999% of the time!
