So I have that I'm a DID system in my bio so people know that so if they don't want to talk to a system they don't have to. And this random person named Mars on Discord thinks that because I have that I must be faking because "it's not in the DSM5". I literally own a copy of the DSM5 and it's in there plain as day. Like sorry that TikTok made it a weird trend but I've had these symptoms long before TikTok was a thing.

Why would you all think someone wouldn't want to talk to you all my besties are a system and I think they are the best besties to have and are way more understanding than most and never make me a third wheel in our friendship. Anyways can you all block that person fake claiming you all bc no one needs to fake claim a system like ever bc systems already fake clame themselves in head space enough and no one should add on to that. ❤️

I agree. Living with a Schizoeffective disorder is not glamorous. ✋

Oh god dreaded tictok where its fashionable to have mental health. Try living a life with it
Honestly, though, people were making assumptions about who had "real" DID or not before TikTok existed. It's just made more people aware, I guess. Either way, that really sucks. I'm sorry that you have to deal with people accusing you of faking. If people would educate themselves better, maybe life would be easier for those with disorders, and maybe we could also help the people who fake disorders.

@minime273 people (admittedly) faking DID spiked because of TikTok is all I'm saying. So people think that they have a point when they fake claim

@Gingeralamode yeahhh. People shouldn't automatically assume others are faking tho.
I once had someone tell me that the reason I talk about my mental health and why I randomly post that I'm sad is for attention some people honestly
Isn't the DSM 5 also super outdated in certain info? It's just diagnostic criteria. Bad info from them all the way around

@CoffeeBeanC In terms of eating disorders, very much so. Not sure about much else. They still have yet to add complex PTSD

@CoffeeBeanC Actually its very updated. The latest version of the DSM-5 was updated 2022.
That's annoying as hell every country has DID in their diagnostic materials the condition that is up for debate on the validity is OSDD and it's sub categories. Even then the other countries have things like partial DID in their books. Like do they understand that the DSM-5 is a north America centric text.
TikTok made having disabilities and disorders a "cool trend" 🙄 I have suspected DID, it's not confirmed and pretty much self diagnosed People these days take things that we didn't choose a fun gimmick, especially on TikTok

@Gladius I'm in the same boat and I agree. As a result of the people of tiktok, it becomes more difficult to speak up about it. So I don't. And now I feel super lonely. Ugh!
Idk why ppl go off of TikTok like it's some legit medical detector or something

That's just stupid to even think smh
Honestly tiktok has made having DID and tourettes a nightmare (I have both)
@Locien Same! My tics got worse right around that time because I stopped being able to suppress them
