I take it because they didn't put me on enough of it while taking naproxen with a restricted eating disorder and I ended up with damage to my stomach lining. Now I'm on more of it permanently to avoid further damage and I can no longer take NSAIDs.

I take it because I get terrible acid reflux

I have acid reflux that acts up and some points more than others. So if I notice it happening more frequently I'll take it for around a month, just to do some reparations and then get off again. I do that every few months or so.

I have to take it due to my stomach acid eating the lining of my throat without it I didn't know about this!!

I took dexilant and it was the best thing I ever took but it caused me to develop chronic kidney disease

I started it 20+ years ago as a child. I grew tolerant to it after a few years of taking it twice a day. PPIs help me a lot. Currently on Dexilant. I have GERD, hiatal hernia, and IBDs

I sometimes take up to 4 - 20mg pills. This is VERY scary.

Sometimes I double up on the omep 40mg because it doesn't do anything for my acid reflux taking just 1

I've been taking it for a few years now. And it actually does stop the daily heartburn I get for no reason other than the esophagus valve is loose. This is concerning.

Holy cow—WHAT??! I HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS why would my doctor not literally say or hint a single word?! Well, I mean, bc they dont get paid to care, just treat, I know, but... I was just prescribed it in like an under-his-breath side-thought kind of commented way when I gave my history to my new PCP. I havent been on anything for GERD before and my symptoms have been extremely minimal in recent years. But I tried it because of the "sometimes i get used to a symptom and normalise it and think I'm fine until it gets addressed directly and highlights the cause for concern" factor. The first 2 days I had INSANE heartburn and these huuuuuge airy belches that would just roll up from deep and keep coming if I held my esoph open. I posted in here about it—twice!!! Once with context and once without, since the community here seems to be scared of/irritated by/driven away from longer posts and comments. Lots of Milennial/Gen Z "TL;DR" attitude, I thought. I never got a single comment on either post, or most of my others for that matter. But I'm wildly active on here in others' comments. What am I doing wrong? AND IS MY HEARTBURN MED GIVING ME CANCER⁉️
