For those with GP--how, if at all, do you treat diarrhea?? I have yet to get any actual help from any medical providers, and my regular provider--an NP--said not to use antidiarrheals because it will slow things down. I haven't had a normal BM since before my dx in early/mid June, though did in the months prior. It isn't always a lot, more just a change in consistency rather than frequency, but if it acts up is sometimes very painful, and I lose a lot of sleep getting up 8 times a night when it hits. In other places, I see TO use the usual meds. Please tell me your experiences.

I am so sorry, I never saw your comment until today!! Do you know your emptying percentage? I guess I'm quite mild, though it sure as heck hasn't felt that way a lot of the time! I have been telling people about the recommendations from my Diabetes Educator, even though I'm not quite 2 weeks from seeing him. I just trust him SO much, and I know he'd be happy if he helped more people by my spreading his advice. The post I made about hasn't gotten a whole lot of action, so maybe people think it's stupid or whatever. 😆 So far, I have had only 1 vomiting episode since (the night of my appointment, actually), and that was with eating beef, which I already suspected is a huge trigger food. I just love so many beef dishes, and pushed it. 😬 Anyway, it's still a little early, but it's going well so far.

I just don't know what to eat anymore I've suffered with this 4 years and it's hit and miss come and go one day I can eat this the next day I can't diarrhea the stomach bloating and the cramping I'll have a good couple days and then it'll take me out and it'll take me down. I'm on Social Security now at the moment due to my mental and physical health I'm unable to work because of this it's very frustrating and daunting and it's nice to have a nice app for once to where we can talk to people who have the same similar experiences that we can get feedback from so thank you alike app

Sorry to hear, I struggled with diarrhea too for some time. I noticed making some diet alterations helped me some. I ate more whole grains and it added bulk to my bowel movements. But diarrhea can be nonspecific sometimes.

@gutsnglory014 I've been told not to eat whole grains. But then, other things not to eat also do just fine for me. The do/don't of things to eat with GP makes my head spin!! Thank you for sharing.

@1stMayflowers it was just an adjustment that was helpful in alleviating my loose stools. But do what works best for you. If you find you’re able to tolerate a food you’re recommended to abstain from, you definitely don’t need to adhere
