I "failed out" of my driving school since I had a meltdown the first class and couldn't manage the 1 on 1 with the teacher so my permit expired ages ago, I have to look into this I hope I can find something like that near me!!! <3πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›

@Emo_Enby_99 yes! my high school wanted to get me involved back then but I wasn't mentally ready to drive. my doctor and I are hoping i can get a spot sooner rather than later. internet trends have made resources for disabled people a lot harder to come by

Ee! That's super exciting! I'm happy opportunities like this exist and are more and more common for people with special needs. I might look into that more for myself. I wish you luck if you decide to do it, that sounds amazing. Don't be too nervous about driving, it'll get a lot easier once you get the hang of it!

@dandelion_flower I don't know about that last part. The older I get the harder it is. Because of stress, overwhelmingness, sensory input.

@IceGoddess Driving is a skill! Just like art or playing an instrument, with practice, it'll get better. Everyone feels a little nervous about it at first but eventually you may feel more confident in your driving. Sometimes it takes a few months or even a few years to get the hang of it, and that's okay. As long as you're doing your best, and using your blinker/indicator lol.

@IceGoddess I'm just happy it's legal in my state. I NEVER EVER take my socks off unless im bathing, but I can't wear shoes if im trying to drive. I need to be able to feel the pedals on my feet

@Icky I drive barefoot and have shoes in the car to put on when I get to my destination. Most of the time it is slip-ons for easy. I also drive with both feet. Just makes me feel safer to feel the pedals against my feet.

Hopefully it works out. My province doesn't have those.

@Ash.G that is unfortunate. I actually didn't know there was such a thing until my doctor brought it up
