I feel like such a bad person, I have some feelings that I shouldn't be having and it makes me feel terrible. It's been this way for a few months and I'm not sure what to do. I've talked to my therapist about it and she doesn't even know what to say.

Your thoughts are not you, they happen TO you. No thought that happens to you makes you a bad person. I struggle with intrusive thoughts as well, which makes my self-loathing even worse, but I’ve been trying to work through it. What’s helped me the most is thinking of thoughts like a cloud—and I watch them go through my mind without resisting or pursuing them. And then poof, they’re gone. They may come back, but I can always do the same thing again. Anyway, just know you’re not alone, and that you’re an amazing human being just for trying to fight. 💕

I have intrusive thoughts, too. Mine are actually linked to my ocd. If you want to talk about it, feel free to message me.

I'm assuming you are talking about intrusive thoughts. If that's the case the best thing to do is to give them (the thoughts) an identity. It makes it easier to tell them off. Or if it's more of a intrusive thought that tells you to do something harmful. I've found that if I listen to very small intrusive thoughts such as "poke that person" "spill the glass" and so on I can yell at the actually bad ones. It goes something like this... The intrusive thought says " punch the wall" You reply "no can do. Plus I already cut up that paper so you had your turn to drive. It's my turn now" I hope this helps a little. Otherwise feel free to each out. ❤️

I'm here if you want to talk. My son struggles with intrusive bad thoughts. He feels like it makes him a horrible human being. I tell him is this: Your thoughts are not who you are as a person. Your thoughts do not determine if you are a good or bad person. It is your actions that show what kind of person you are. You may be having bad thoughts. That does not make you a bad person. Only if you act upon those thoughts will you become a bad person. The fact that you are reaching out tells me that you are a good person struggling with intrusive thoughts. It can be very difficult dealing with them. They can be very loud and hard to ignore. One thing that might help is to think of a statement that counteracts or diminishes the thought. Tell yourself that statement every time you have the intrusive thought. For example: Intrusive thought: you can't do anything right Counter thought: everybody makes mistakes. I know your thoughts are more complex than that. It's just something my therapist has me do and thought maybe it could help you. I hope your therapist is, at the very least, looking for someone/something that can support and guide you through this, since she doesn't know what to say/do. I will pray that you find what you need to help you through this. 🫂 🙏

@dolphinblues thank you for these kind words even if they weren't for me they've helped a bit. Sometimes I feel like a sadder/worse me is yelling at me. So many people don't understand intrusive thoughts and how stressful and scary they can be💕

@La.La.Ladybug I'm glad they helped some! Intrusive thoughts can be very overwhelming and scary. It is a subject that needs talked about more often. No one should suffer in silence or feel alone in their fight over them. 🙏 💜 🫂
