I have a cousin who is in the military, and anytime I need a hug or a cry, he sends my older sister to send my brother to give me a hug. It is the best feeling in the world for brothers/cousins/best friends to do that for you

Crying actually helps to get rid of all those excess hormones that are making you upset! Our tears are filled with those hormones and when you cry, you're releasing them, that's why our tears actually look different (under a microscope) depending on what emotion you were feeling when you cried!

I don’t think you should have to justify crying. Sometimes you just gotta do it. 💕

I broke down crying 2 weeks ago to someone for the first time about everything and they listened to me and told me I had every right to be upset. I've never felt better afterwards. Before if I cried in front of someone I was in the wrong or I was inconvincing them. Humans find safety in shared emotions and validation of emotions. Tears are good I recomend person to share with or not. If I cry by myself I like to have a notebook and just write things down, whatever is on my mind just to get thoughts and feelings on paper

You seem like a truly wise person. I can relate to your situation with crying in front of others. I think mine comes from bad experiences in childhood that make me weird about my emotions now. It's nice to have some solidarity

Actually have a problem with crying. Can’t manage to do it even when it’s clear I want to. There’s like something preventing me from crying. The closest I got to it recently was when I was rejected by someone I really liked. It honestly feels miserable having those emotions pent up without a release.

I wish I could, but I'm a grade a bottler. I bottle my emotions til I just have a day of crying. Do you use sad music and movies?

As much as I wanna hold it in at times, it really does help get everything off your chest and out of your system

Yes, I used to look for "videos that will make you cry" on YouTube a lot so I could let out some emotions that had been pent up. Had dealt with the death of my sister, and I was just bottling my emotions, so I'd purposefully try to make myself cry to try and release the emotions. Worked some wonders. The best were those sad Asian commercials.
