I'm so frustrated with feeling like I'm going crazy. I'm definitely overweight, have been my whole life, but it's gotten worse. Most of my anxiety is centered around medical issues, ie heart palpitations, feeling like I can't breathe, pains in the chest area, light headedness sometimes. I'm sure my anxiety/panic is the culprit but I worry something may be wrong due to my weight. I've been trying to lose but sometimes my hyper awareness of feelings in my body get in the way of exercise as well as driving or some other daily activities. Does anyone else suffer with hyper fixation/awareness like this?

@sparklebudgie I get some of these symptoms, start out small work slowly toward your goal. Baby steps are better than no steps. Do things you feel safe with. If you're doing the proper breathing it should alleviate anxiety. Deep breaths through nose, inflate tummy, exhale longer than your inhale through mouth.
Please don't fear having anxiety, there are ways through it. First may I ask you, have you had your thyroid checked. I've battled anxiety most of my life and I definitely have better days incorporating activity, supplements and healthy food than I did before. Remember, proper breathing is essential. Many of us are breath holders without realizing it. Reach out if you want me to elaborate on anything.

Friends please don't give up. If you don't take care of yourself you're lining yourself up for more illness than pushing past anxiety. I have pretty severe anxiety and I work out every morning. I vary from stretching (if we don't we'll get tight and inflexible more prone to injury), yoga - strengthening, increases balance and proper breathing. Light weights, weight bearing exercises keep our bones strong too. Don't wait to feel motivated. Just know you have to care about you enough to do the work for your health.
omg... yes!! i could have written your post myself. i know for sure some of my issues are due to my weight, but i'm too anxious to work out. even going out for a walk i get anxious, dizzy, feel like i'll have a heart attack or keel over. i'm so afraid to work out. as a result my weight keeps going up. i feel so trapped.

I definitely understand what you are going through. Being overweight and then having had a baby has caused issues with almost my whole body.
It sounds as if I could have written that post myself. I've had weight issues most of my life. No matter what I do I just can't lose the weight. However lately I have started losing weight. Come to find out part of the reason was because of the meds I was on. Since my meds have been changed I have lost 41 pounds. I've started drinking lots of water, eating more veggies, and going for walks with my church family. If it wasn't for the motivation from my church family I wouldn't be walking. I go walking at a track where it has benches so I walk a lap and then have to sit down because of my asthma but I try to do a mile and a half each night which is 6 laps.

Yes, I have. I feel your pain. It's a cycle...I've struggled with my weight it seems my entire life. My anxiety and difficulty breathing make it hard to get in shape. People just don't understand - which only make me feel worse about myself.
@MattieEstelle yes, for sure! It always makes me feel like crap when my husband says if you'd just go you'd be fine. No sir. My anxiety gets worse when I'm being told I have to do it instead of understood and encouraged. Blah.
