does anyone know any good natural remedies that can help me sleep through the night? my medication has me going to bed at 11pm, waking up at 3am, and again at 6am. I’d really prefer not to use more medication. I’ve considered melatonin but I’ve heard good and bad about it. any suggestions?

CBD gummies might help, there are some specifically made with other natural ingredients that help with sleep, and most dont have THC, but if you're open to that there are THC gummies made for sleep with CBN in them that have been shown to help with insomnia. I bought some but haven't been able to try them due to a new intolerance to THC I have 😅😅

melatonin works just keep in mind u dont need a lot!!!! i used to take like 6mg, then 5, and now 3. i think u really only need like 1mg for it to work but they dont usually sell it that low. just keep in mind u dont need that much!

YES. Hear me out on this, but have you ever tried guided sleep meditations? I SWEAR by them. They help my mind to not race because I’m focused on the guiding and I’m asleep before I know it. I personally like the Harry Potter ones, but to each their own. There are TONS of options out there, and I have actually started to look forward to going to bed at night just so I can imagine myself in that world, and sometimes even dream about it, sort of like lucid dreaming. It’s really nice and requires little to no effort!

I would recommend trying to do a little late exercise before bed to tire your body out a little more so it will hopefully sleep through the full night

Certain teas can help aid in sleep, cutting down your screen time for sure and eliminating any light in your room. I got some epsom salts that have melatonin chamomile and lavender, soak for 20 mins and it knocks me out. Melatonin as far as actually taking it reacts really odd with me so I try to refrain from that. It’s expensive and definitely can interact with anxiety and probably medication and would need cleared (and i would recommend finding naturally made not chemically made) but CBD tincture makes me soooo tired. You have to definitely start off small because it can make you feel drowsy, unless that’s just me.

I've had good results from using passionflower tincture and lemon balm. I would mix them in a small glass of water about an hour before I wanted to fall asleep. It's not as effective as melatonin but it also didn't give me the "hangover" that melatonin would. might be worth a try!

herbal teas, especially valerian tea before bed usually helps! Melatonin works for me but you just have to experiment to find what dose is best for you. And idk if you do this or not but try not to fall asleep to music or TV and use white noise as an alternative. Music and TV keep your brain stimulated even when sleeping which can cause you to wake up through the night. Hope this helps!

@Ashby thanks! I will probably try to limit my screen time before bed, since I don’t fall asleep to it, but I do watch it right before which I know isnt great either

I love melatonin 😅 it saves me when I can't sleep because of my chronic insomnia. BUT I have to make sure I set aside a full 8 hours to sleep because if not I wake up groggy after taking it.

@beth662 thinking melatonin might be the way to go if it’s cleared by my psychiatrist to take with my meds. thanks for letting me know about the 8 hours thing! I’ll have to plan for that when my semester starts 😅
