Anybody else here have Auditory Processing Disorder (Auditory Dyslexia)? I feel it affecting my adult life a lot. Making work very frustrating, as I work in a loud restaurant. Also, I never learned any other spoken language as a kid/teen, being told it will be harder for me to learn a different language. However, American Sign Language was very easy for me to pick up, since it’s a very visual and physical language. Now I’m in my twenties and I’m learning Spanish. It’s actually super fun to learn. I’ve been learning on Doulingo. I’m hoping it sticks with me. Its cool cause I can go at my own pace. It seems to be helping quite a bit! I am around a lot people at work who primarily or only speak Spanish. And i think it’s so awesome I’m able to communicate better. Not perfect at all. Still can barely form a conversation in Spanish, but it’s been easier to communicate a little more!

Hello!! I was diagnosed at a very young age with APD but no one ever told me about this so I went through life thinking something was so wrong with me and being mocked for poor listening skills. I didn't start to understand it until I was 19 and it. Affects. Everything. It's also commonly associated with ADD/ADHD which I was recently diagnosed with. Certainly something worth looking into. I just had a consultation with a sleep doctor who shared that narcolepsy is common in people with ADD. It's very interesting how everything bleeds into one another. But I'm so so happy to see you learning Spanish! I am also trying to learn it. I am also interested in learning sign language now realizing how helpful the visuals are. I struggled and nearly failed out of elementary and middle school. Soon (hopefully) I will have not just my bachelor's but also my masters before I'm 23. It's not easy but remember how important your accomplishments are and how much harder they were for you than the average person. It takes mental strength to keep pushing through!

@TrippyDangerousMe I’m sorry:/ I know the feeling though. School was hard for me, especially in a classroom.
