When I had this issue, the doc prescribed me Prazosin, a drug with a non-intentional side effect of taking away dreaming. It's a blood pressure medication, so you have to be careful getting up from bed too quickly and such, but it worked for me. From what you're saying, you're in the exact same boat I was. Prazosin did seem to help that presleep terror as well. Might be worth a shot 🖤 My thoughts are with you. I know how hellish being stuck like this is. You've got this. You'll figure it out, rest will come at some point. Be gentle with yourself. Finding things that bring you the most comfort and keeping them in your sleep space might cushion the agony each night too.

@Hayls does Prazosin lower blood pressure? (also dreams aren’t the issue, i tend to not dream, the issue is paranoia, flashbacks, and hallucinations 😅)

@theglowingembers Yeah, I think my doctor was going to prescribe that, but then my blood pressure was already too low and we didn’t want to risk that

This is definitely something that you should be talking to your doctor about. There's likely some kind of medication they can prescribe to help. For the time being, if you have a night light that might be helpful. Especially if you have one of the ones that project things onto the ceiling that you can watch until you fall asleep

@Entropyluna I have taken sleeping meds, and they do help, they just tend to stop working very quickly
