I have EDS but before I was diagnosed I was tested and have carpal tunnel. Does EDS cause carpal tunnel? The doctor said my pain is not consistent with carpal tunnel plus I have the same pain in my legs. Anyone know if there is a connection?

Unfortunately EDS affects the structure of tendons and ligaments so it can be the cause of your carpal tunnel syndrome.. I used to do hand therapy in order to address carpal tunnel symptoms through median nerve glides and learn stretching techniques

EDS caused the weak tissue that led to carpal tunnel. I got tendinitis in both wrists at age 12 from falling. My knees were next to go. Worth getting them looked at. Bracing, taping, heating pads and PT are my best friends

EDS can cause pain all over, depending on what type you have. There are so many other conditions that are comorbid with EDS it's crazy. I have severe chronic back and hip pain (plus other random joints), spondylosis, mild arthritis, a variety of gastrointestinal issues, chronic migraines, POTS, raynauds, and neuropathy. All of these things are common with EDS. Plus I subluxed my shoulder earlier this week. I do PT weakly plus a whole host of medications. Heating pads and braces are total life savers too.

I got diagnosed with Carpal tunnel 3 years before we found out I have EDS. One of my doctors, the one who diagnosed me with EDS, said that we're mode prone to these chronic conditions because our tissue is weak and flexible. I've been doing physical therapy for everything and that kinda helps, but they put me on fibromyalgia medication that really really helps with the pain all over
