Hi there! I was recently diagnosed with dissociative type PTSD. I recently had a situation where i was exposed to multiple triggers over a short period of time, and it's really triggering my paranoia. Is it common to have some auditory hallucinations like steps or voices when exposed to a lot of triggers very quickly? Or is this something that I should bring up with my psychiatrist later this month? Thanks in advance 😅

If it's not normal, then I am abnormal with you! I get those too. It's kind of like sleep paralysis, but when you're awake, and not the full paralysis part.... if that makes any sense 😅 I usually just try to distract myself with something else, or I talk to myself out loud "I know I'm the only one here" "I know I encountered this trigger earlier so I'm a bit anxious, but I am safe"... etc
From my experience it is normal, but talking to your psychiatrist about it is not a bad idea. They can help you find coping mechanisms, and get medication to help manage it better. ❤️
