I have the tendency to overeat because i’m so stressed out all the time. Any suggestions on how to overcome not eating when i’m stressed.

Maybe bubblegum, then it tastes good and you can blow bubbles haha! I got bubble gum the other day because I was falling asleep when I was driving and it was good and fun

I do the same thing. I've noticed that it helps to try and eat consistently throughout the day. After a night of over eating I will tell myself that tomorrow I'll skip breakfast or something to make up for it but that just leads to more over eating since I'll be hungry. Also, when I get something that I want to eat I try to remember that I don't necessarily need to eat the entire thing right now and that if I'm still hungry after I can go and get the rest. Or I will try to eat a normal sized portion and then after I get a small snack.

I have the same issue when I get stressed. At one period of my life, I was so anxious I lost 20lbs in 3 weeks, and I’m already a small person. When I talked to my doctor about it, she suggested try acupuncture. I know it sounds crazy but it’s amazing because they can target your anxiety along with your tigger organs (which in our case, is our stomachs). Not only did I eventually start to feel hungry again, but I also found myself feeling less anxious throughout the day. You have to go into it with an open mind though and it does take sometime to see results. I will say however, during my acupuncture appointment, I got some of the best sleep ever!

Well you’re already getting there! Identify what you’re feeling when it happens. Are you more stressed than normal? Does setting or time impact it at all? Then look at what are you REALLY craving? Satisfaction? An outlet? The dopamine release? Then you can try to correct it through finding something else to do that gives you the same feeling! I do the same thing and it’ll take a while, but through positive reinforcement and being conscious of it, you can change!!!

Suckers help a lot for me and gum, I also often take things like grapes and get a bowl and fill it up a little and slowly eat them it helps a lot cause I’m still eating but it’s less food and healthier food

At the moment try to over eat healthier food but talk to a therapists about health coping mechanisms. Ask yourself why you eating this and do you need this. Maybe try replacing eating with a healthier distraction. Like walking, painting, or other hobbies you like to do.

Ice hand lots of it. My thing wasn’t exactly the eating but the motion and chewing to calm myself down. So ice cubes or the crushed ice helped me not eat but had the same motions to trick my mind that I was eating

Well the biggest I've heard is drinking water but I've never had that work for me as an overweight person. The biggest for me is either mints/gum with 0 or very little calories, or finding some activity/activities to occupy both your mind and hands at the same time so you won't eat
