I use the 54321 method. Speaking out loud and slowly, taking a breath in-between, find 5 things you can see. 4 things you can touch. 3 things you hear. 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste. (yes spit counts as a taste.) I keep repeating this trying to name different things each time until my brain is so distracted im no longer worrying about the feelings. It can help you calm down by taking your mind off the current emotion.
